10/2/08 Monsters Invade Altus
- That’s right, it’s October and the monsters are coming!
Don’t worry kids, these monsters may roar but they don’t
bite. The Checkered Flag Kid’s Club will have monster trucks
on display October 7th thru 11th as a prelude to the annual “Smash-O-Rama”
monster truck show at Altus Speedway Saturday night October 11th.
You can stop by to take an up-close look and get your picture
taken with a Monster Truck. All donations for pictures will go
the kids club. Kid’s (of all ages) be sure to take notes
on all the places/businesses that you see a monster truck at this
week and bring your list to Mojo Hobby, 2200 Falcon Rd., on Saturday,
October 11th where your list will be entered for a chance to win
a brand new remote control car, valued at $300.00, courtesy of
Mojo Hobby. “It has been a great
year for the kids club in 08, the inaugural year” said Dee
Dee Sites, general manager for Altus Speedway. “ We acquired
over sixty members this year and hope to have even more in 2009.
We have given away hundreds of toys, thanks to the great supporters
and sponsors that helped this year. Plans are to give a scholarship
in 2009. The Altus community has been wonderful, and the kids
really love it. I’m very proud of this venture, there’s
never a charge for any child to become a member, the only requirement
is that they sign a Good Kid Contract, this states that they will
promise to be the best that they can, try to excel in school and
at home, have good sportsmanship, good manners, treat others with
respect, in general, be a good kid” said Sites.

R/C car at 2:30 pm during grand opening.
9/21/08 September 27th Altus Speedway
will host the USST Supertruck Series. Hornets / Chargers will
be racing in this event also, one class, one purse, no entry fee
plus we are running a fan choice BOMBER race the Redneck
Rally was chosen as the fan's favorite race. The Commanders Cup
race has been postponed due to scheduling issues. It will be run
during the Spooker.
Smash-O-Rama
is returning to Altus Speedway October 11th. It's a night full of
destruction and mayham! MONSTER TRUCKS, Trailer Race Of Destruction,
Wall of Steel and more. ADVANCE TICKETS GO ON SALE SEPTEMBER 24th,
available at EYECARE, 1415 N. Main St. and MOJO Hobby, 2200 Falcon
Rd., in Altus or Broadway Auto Parts in Hobart.

is coming to Altus Speedway September 20th. This show will be filled
with your favorite races from the Bomber Madness series plus a NEW
RACE, the Redneck Rally Race! It's going to be a wild time and we
can assure you that EVERY part of the racetrack and infield will
be used! This is a once a year event so don't miss it!

Aug 19, 2008 -- USST Announces the "National Cash Lenders.Com
End of Year Challenge"
The United States Super Truck Series(USST) is proud to announce
a marketing partnership with National Cash Lenders.Com to promote
the NationalCashLenders.com website and online business. National
Cash Lenders.Com is no stranger to professional motorsports and
marketing. They were the primary sponsor of Vision Racings number
37 Nascar Busch Series and ARCA team for nearly four years with
past drivers Randy Lajoie, Tyler Walker and Damon Lusk in the seat.
The partnership utilizes the remaining 6 races on the USST South
schedule. Company spokesman said, "We are thrilled to be involved
with a series that is growing and reaching out in our major markets
like Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Tennessee".
Those events are scheduled at asphalt oval tracks in Tulsa Oklahoma,
Odessa Missouri, Altus Oklahoma, Wichita Falls Texas, and the SuperNationals
event in Memphis Tennessee. Teams must participate in all of the
remaining USST South Scheduled events to gather points towards the
End of Year Challenge Championship Bonus of $2000 dollars. Super
Trucks must display the National Cash Lenders.com windshield banner
to be eligible for the additional monies.
National Cash Lenders.com is also raising the stakes for each of
the final races by adding an additional $2000 to each of the events
payouts. This should make for great racing and help ease the rising
cost of the competing teams to travel.

The United States Super Truck series is an asphalt oval track series
that races in the central United States between Texas and Wisconsin.
The 450 horsepower SuperTrucks are similar to NASCAR Craftsman Trucks

08/16/08 The August 16th
USST race was rained-out and has been rescheduled for the Labor
Day weekend SUMMERNATIONALS. A flyer is available on the website
for the event.
08/01/08 Lots of events
have been added to the schedule! August 15th we have added
USST Super Trucks testing and practice PLUS: Live Music Concert
Featuring FAT CHANCE!Proceeds go to the Speedway
Kids Club and Drivers Point Fund. Tickets can be purchased in advance
from Speedway Drivers for $8.00 or at the gate for $10.00. Testing
starts at 7pm, concert starts at 9pm. August 16th will feature
USST Super Trucks, the Hornet Rodeo and BOMBER BARREL RACING! -
Barrels will be placed at both ends of the track. Drivers will
have to circle each barrel the make a lap around the track. We have
also added "The Speedway Jam" to the schedule for
Sept. 6th. This will be a full day of activities for all ages ending
in a multi band concert, more details soon! September 20th willl
be the BOMBER MADNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS! It's a whole event full
of your favorite races from the "Bomber Madness Series".
Points will be awared for each race and a new Bomber Madness Champion
will be crowned. These are the races we will run in this event.
DRIVE-IN RACE, FLAGPOLE RACE, TIRE FISHING RACE, MUSICAL CHAIR RACE,
SECOND WINS RACE, LAST MAN STANDING (first across eliminated).
The Super Sonic Chargers will also be running with tonights event.
September 26th will be the EYECARE 100 Super Truck race, plus we
have added the Commanders Cup - CHALLENGE CAR RACE - Commanders
from Altus AFB will be racing the Challenge Cup Cars. For more information

07/01/08 The agenda for
Friday July 4th is: 6pm pits open, super trucks open practice 6-7:30,
super trucks 20 lap invitational race runs at 8:00 followed by the
200 lap enduro race, the evening will conclude with a fireworks
show. The ten truck field for the invitational is Kevin Jones,
Brandon Lollis, Andy Welch, Brad Sams, Chris Johnson, Bernie Gibson,
Josh Cournoyer, Eric Caudell, Ryan Hicks, Scott Dimel. Saturday
July 5th pits will open at 6pm, races will start at 8pm.
06/18/08 June 21st is
the final points night for the Thunderstox class. June 28 will be
the first race for the Super Stocks under the NEW RULES. The Bomber
relay race was rained out last weekend and is scheduled to be run
on the 21st. We will also have a fireworks show by G-Man Pyro.
06/01/08 New to the Bomber
class. RACE FAN'S can win cash to! Each time the Bombers race we
will draw from the ticket stubs to choose a representative fan for
each Bomber car. If your Bomber team wins you will get to draw from
the cash vault!
05/25/08 ONLINE ENTRY
is now open for the FREEDOM 200 ENDURO race.
05/08/08 Stunt driver
race! First two laps in reverse gear, spin a 180 and finish the
race in forward gear. Also, THUNDERSTOX FLYING $50 The crowd will
choose two Thunderstox drivers to run head to head for $50 cash.
04/28/08 This Saturday
night we will have our annual King of the Street races after the
regular stock car program. Any street legal car or truck can enter,
there will be two classes. Sign in starts at 9:30, racing should
start around 10 p.m.
04/22/08 USST Super Trucks
return and we will have the worlds ugliest truck contest. Bombers
will race backwards this week. BarS ThunderStox, Super Sonic Chargers
and The Putnam Toyota Hornets will race too. We have added one more
date to the schedule, friday July 4th we are hosting a Supertruck
invitational race, fireworks and a 200 lap enduro race. More Bomber
races have been added to the schedule as well.
04/02/08 THREE-DOG-NIGHT!
This saturday April 5th, 3 adults together get $3 off at the
front gate, 3 hotdogs for $3, hot dog eating contest, Bomber wenier
fling race and of course Three Dog Night music.
03/24/08 Agenda for March
29th Supertruck race; Supertrucks early practice from 4-6pm ($20).
Regular pits and grandstands open at 6pm. All classes practice 6-7:15pm.
Drivers meeting 7:30. Trophy presentation 8:00 followed immediately
by USST qualifying.
03/20/08 Opening Night
2008 agenda; CAR SHOW (UNITED SUPERMARKET BUNKER HILL) 1-3pm. Pits
open early at 5pm. Practice from 5:30
- 7pm. Autograph / Photo session from 7-7:30. Drivers Meeting 7:45.
Time trials start at 8pm.
03/07/08 Due to the cold
weather we have decided to move tonights open test to Sunday 12
noon till 5pm.
03/05/08 Sonic restaurants
will be the 2008 title sponsor for the CHARGER division, "SUPER
SONIC CHARGERS". We are working on organizing a AMS BOOSTER
Club and a Kids Club for 2008. Call the speedway phone if you are
interested in participating 580-482-2754. Tires are in stock for
the Thunderstox, Supers and Trucks.
02/29/08 We have added
a practice day Friday March 7th 7-11pm. $25 for car and driver,
$10 for additional pit passes.
01/14/08 Added clarification
to Thunderstox rule #6 "If interior is boxed in a 12 inch square
removable inspection panel is required."
