7-13-10***TECHNICAL
ADVISORY: You must run a stock wheel in the HORNET division. If
you show up with anything else, you will have 2 choices: Change
the wheel or move up to the CHARGER division.
***The "summer hours"
for Altus Speedway will continue through the first week in September.
This will entail trophy presentations (from the week before) at
8:00 P.M. sharp, followed by racing at 8:20. This is to allow
the sun to go down a bit more/temperature to cool off as much
as possible.
***Altus Speedway apologizes
for the late start and the length of the program on July 10th.
There were multiple technical issues with the transponder scoring
system and attempts were made before and through out the program
to correct this issue. The recent rains were most of the culprit,
but a faulty part was eventually diagnosed and a new part ordered
this week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Altus Speedway will have a practice this Wednesday March 31st,
from 5:00 P.M. til "DARK". It costs 10$ per person to
come in the pits. The Grandstands will NOT be open during this
night of testing.
3-26-10 Grandstands will open
at 3:00 P.M. for the opening race on April 3rd.
3-25-10 Currently Altus Speedway
does NOT have the capablility to accept credit cards/debit cards.
That is being worked.
3-24-10 RULES CLARIFICATION:
10.4 Car owner may use a "stand
in" driver 3 times during racing season and continue to earn
points for the car. Officials must be notified and approved prior
to car entering the staging area. General Manager must approve
all driver changes.
10.5 The car you sign in at the gate
at the begining of the night, will be your car earning points.
If your car has trouble and can not compete after signing in at
the gate, you will not be able to swap cars and gain points for
your car number. In case of a 2-day show and an event occurs on
Saturday night that precludes the car from competing on Sunday,
you will NOT be able to bring a different car to race on Sunday
and continue to earn additional points for original car.

drawing conducted after the last feature race on opening night

Tires for Super Stock and Street Stock ARE HERE in town now and
can be purchased by contacting Daryl Duke. THIS YEARS TIRE
PRICE WILL BE REDUCED FROM 80$ PER TIRE TO $75.

The track lease is now 100$ for the whole day. (9-5ish) This includes
the car and a "few" helpers. If you need the track at
night (lights on), a different rental rate will apply. The track
facilities will now be open during the week from 9-4.

12-24-09 The General Track rules have
been updated. 7 USST SUPER TRUCK events have been added to the
schedule. Please note, there is no DOUBLE POINTS for opening night!
Car show will be April 3rd, from 10-2 p.m. with location TBD.
Tires will be the same as last year and the same cost! The new
points scoring system is also posted at the end of the rules page!
12-10-09 The 2010 rules for all weekly
divisions racing at Altus Speedway are now posted in to the left
of this news column. The General rules (protest, lineups etc..).
are under rewrite and should be posted within the next week.
12-9-09 The
2010 Altus Speedway TENTATIVE schedule is posted and can be viewed
on the link on the left. The USST Super Trucks will be added soon
along with other special events. Please note, June 5th is VACATION
for all classes and no races will be on the schedule.
12-9-09 Altus Speedway Track Owner conducted
a meeting at the Freindship Inn last night. Rules for the weekly
classes were handed out for the 2010 season.
